Description

If you are feeling lonely, well... you're not alone! An epidemic of loneliness has taken over the world, with countries from Japan to the UK to the United States all seeing negative health effects. We take a look into what it actually means to be lonely, what some of those negative health outcomes are, and what we can do about it. Hint: the answer is not "create a fake friend out of old socks."

To help us understand what this loneliness looks like, we take a deep dive into Sophia Coppola's Lost In Translation. Starring Bill Murray and a 17-year-old Scarlett Johansson, this intimate portrait of a brief relationship speaks to the beauty of genuine connection. Also Bill Murray gets stuck on an elliptical machine!
