For many people routines are something to live by. I benefit from routines because it gives me a sense of achievement and accomplishment! If it serves you setting a min, med, and max goal for a routine can help you sustain it longterm so that you don't end up quitting much like the popular New Year's resolutions that get thrown out the door. Making your routine realistic is key to incorporating self compassion for those days where you just don't feel like doing anything because those days are important too.
