This is the greatest analogy that has helped me shift my mindset and explore what voice inside I really let run my life. If you can use this 3 chair perspective and apply it to your specific situations/feelings you will be able to build a better relationship with YOUR compassionate observer. Do you let "The Criticizer" encourage change with harsh "motivation?" Do you let "The Criticized" get squashed and trampled every single day trying to make the changes and deal with the thing rather than hiding away? Or do you allow "The Compassionate Observer" take the leading role in your self talk story and validate, understand and support each piece with kindness?
