In this episode I collaborate with Sharlicia Boone (Resident in Counseling). Sharlicia shares her experiences of sexual trauma and her healing process to mitigate the impact of her traumatic experiences. According to the CDC about 1 in 4 male victims have experienced sexual abuse before the age of ten, and 1 in 8 females have experienced sexual assault before the age of ten (CDC.gov)! Sexual trauma, abuse, and assault happens at rapid rates and it can be a continuous vicious cycle! In this episode we also discussed seeing sex in a healthy manner post sexual assault or abuse, and how we as a community can help survivors of sexual abuse in comparison to BLAMING them.
