Welcome to our feature-length commentary for Ridley (Diddly) Scott's Alien Covenant. Warning: Duncan was a little under the weather during the recording of this, and as a result is more inclined towards the curmudgeonly. Nevertheless - both he and Richard share their thoughts over the full runtime of Alien Covenant. Did it improve on Prometheus? Did it deliver on what was set up by its predecessor? Well...no. Not really. But here's why!
The crew of a colony ship, bound for a remote planet, discover an uncharted paradise with a threat beyond their imagination, and must attempt a harrowing escape. They don't though. They end up embroiled in a bunch of fatuous nonsense, rife with completely un-anchored religious symbolism, illogical motivations and a bunch of angry Moomins.
