So many of our rhythms of life are overwhelming. Instead of being sweet and simple, they end up being stressful and jarring.
Christmas, for instance. There is so much potential for peace and calm, but instead we run around crazy, busying ourselves with many things that don’t matter all that much.
The same is true of holidays off and vacations. We could relax and spend time with our families, but we spend a lot of money and stress out with a lot of planning. Could we camp in the woods instead of going to Legoland again? Yes. Could we stay home and play board games instead of planning a trip or throwing a neighborhood bbq ? Yes.
This is true of the Sabbath too, friends.
