Description

If you've listened to my first podcast you know a little bit about the importance of nutrition during pregnancy. The fact is that expectant couples are led to believe that nutrition has little to do with a healthy pregnancy and positive outcome. The truth is that we've known since the 1940's the importance of prenatal nutrition.

Dr. Tom Brewer took it upon himself to dive further into nutrition and its importance during pregnancy. He created the Brewer Pregnancy Nutrition Program, used it in his own practice for over 20 years and was astounded by the number of his colleagues who wanted nothing to do with his discovery and subsequent nutritional program. He couldn't understand why his colleagues wouldn't want to be able to offer the same outcomes to their patients as his patients were having. The baby's born to his patients weighed between 7 1/2 pounds and 9 1/2 pounds at birth and often came into the world at or after 40 weeks. His patients never experienced any of the "pregnancy induced" illnesses that were the norm for his colleagues.

Dr. Brewer's pregnancy diet is still available to women today and can be found at DrBrewerPregnancyDiet.com. Enjoy this podcast as I explain the big deal is and why every pregnant woman needs this information. Getting this nutritional program into the hands of pregnant women everywhere has the potential to change the way we, as humans, view pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period. YES! Prenatal nutrition really is THAT important!
