In the S&C world, weeding through the bullshit can be a full-time job. When squatting on a BOSU ball with one leg while curling a squat rack takes the front stage on Instagram, many young coaches get lost in the wash. It is important in any industry to establish standards and principles that we know to be true rather than taking advice from the bro snorting pre-workout at the gym. Principles establish conventional thinking while philosophies allow us to challenge conventional thinking. Once a philosophy is established we must present data and analytics to see if it can hold its weight.
