Description

Join Darcy Walsh for a chat with Mary Beth Carty about her new releases and upcoming performances with a couple musical demonstrations along the way.

Accordionist, guitarist, and player of pocket-sized instruments, Mary Beth Carty of Antigonish, Nova Scotia possesses a magical voice that has the power to rouse a room to sing on choruses like… “Aliens are Nice!” or “Hashbrowns!” or other such inspirational words. After spending some years in cities and on the road, Mary Beth Carty returned to Antigonish County and rediscovered her love for the diverse cultures, beautiful places, and unique people of the area. From 2017 to 2019 she lived in Cape Breton Island and made her home in the city of Sydney where she became a regular on the ceilidh scene.

Recorded with some of the best musicians from Eastern Nova Scotia, Crossing the Causeway, her second album came out on Friday November 25th and can be found on BandCamp, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Deezer.

Guest musicians are Bradley Murphy, Colin Grant, Morgan Toney, Mac Morin, Hilda Chiasson, Howie MacDonald, Donnie Calabrese, Joe MacMaster, Chrissy Crowley, Keith Mullins, Anna Ludlow, Heather MacIssac, & John Pellerin.
