Lucas Melgaço is Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and a former post-doctoral researcher at CRiS as a FWO research fellow, and much more. His main scientific interests are in the domains of urban criminology, surveillance, policing, public order, social movements and protests, and the relationships between information and communication technologies, space and security.
