1983 Week 9 - Sunday, May 1, 1983. Attendance: 10,971, TV: ABC.
John Williams scored on a 1-yard dive with 1:23 left and a late Boston rally ended three yards short of the Michigan goal line, as the Panthers held on for a 28-24 United States Football League victory over the Breakers. The touchdown, which extended Michigan's winning streak to four, overshadowed a brilliant passing performance by Boston's Johnnie Walton, who completed 37 of 49 for three touchdowns and 422 yards. Williams' touchdown capped a 43-yard drive that followed a 17-yard punt by Boston's Dario Casarino.
