A wonderful talk with historical fiction and faith-based author Elizabeth Musser. Originally from Atlanta, GA, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University, Elizabeth now lives part-time in Lyon, France. For over 35 years, Elizabeth and her husband have served in pastorial ministry in France through One Collective. Today, they split their time living in France and living in north Georgia in order to be with their childern and grandchildren. Elizabeth's most famous novel The Swan House, a historical fiction set in Atlanta in the 1960's won many awards including Amazon Book of the year, the Gold Illumination Book Award, and is considered a classic top ten book of Georgia-based novels of the past 100 years.
By Way of the Moonlight was published in 2022 and was a Publisher's Weekly Top Ten Pick and a Parable Weekly Bestseller. The book is set in America during WWII around the U-boat invasions and shares the story of a girl with dreams of creating an equestrian therapy recovery center on her granparents 10-acre estate. Allie's equestrian dreams come to a hault due to the war. Then the battle of the Atlantic changes her life forever as she comes to discover her grandmother's past, but with the courage and assistance of a new found friend, she may find what she needs to keep her equestrian dream alive.
A novella by Elizabeth that I highly recommend, especialy for dog lovers is Waiting for Peter. A short story told from the POV of the dog and the mother of a boy named Peter. I read it in just under two hours! Could not put it down!
