Description

The topic for today's episode came about rather organically. As it turns out, my life is a guinea pig in my line of work. I help people talk about money, emotions, and emotions around money, and I help them reach their financial finish lines.

I talk about money stories, our old money narratives and how we must dismantle subconscious patterns to reach financial wholeness. I love what I do and spend my days helping people protect what is most important, their loved ones, and to live out their money differently. Now I say this because my husband, who listens to me prepare speeches workshops and is aware of my money workbook, completely caught me off guard when he purchased a truck without discussing the matter. Oh ya, that happened; he went to the bank, got himself a line of credit and decided to trade in his current vehicle for a truck.

This being said, I had to pull some statistics on money and relationships it was alarming. And so we bring you today some tools, tips and tricks on how we can have the hard conversations with our partners. How have you lived out your money through filters?

What you were told, learned, experienced, and believed to be true. Your partner also has these filters in which they do life and their money. Stay tuned as we help families navigate yours, mine and ours when it comes to blended families. Financial compatibility does not mean you need to go looking for a partner with the same financial standing as yourself - or that you need to kick someone to the curb because they don't earn enough money. Rather, this kind of compatibility has much more to do with your respective attitudes towards and habits surrounding money.
