Description

Beverly Kreller is owner of Speak Music Publicity, Artistic Director of the Speak Music Be Kind Festival and one half of the dustbowl duo Hotcha! We reminisce about her experience as an actor and wig maker at the Stratford & Shaw festivals and talk about her many roles in music: songwriter, musician, publicist and festival director. She also shares her thoughts on the healing power of music.

“Many people say this, but it’s very true to me: The fact that it’s a healing thing. Whether it’s the toe-tapping music that we do or something that’s more of a ballad or softer gentler music, it’s all healing. It’s healing for the audience but it’s in fact healing for the artist. And especially singing, I find that’s one of the most beautiful things that people can do. I don’t care if you’re in tune or whatever. I think people should always sing. Sing out loud! [laughs] Where would we be without music in the world? The world IS music. The world is frequency. What would we do without it?”
