“I grew up in like a pop-culture vacuum, like there was no … it was only either CBC Radio 1 or 2 or it was some other classical or choral or organ music that my parents were listening to. There are certainly lots of those time where I feel like I should write a song, or I have this musical idea … What do I wanna say? What’s worth saying? And how can I say it in a way that’s worth doing?”
