Bryan Bercik knows a thing or two about trial and error, and learning as you go. Not knowing the first thing about real estate, Bryan got into the industry in 2012 as a house flipper. When he bought his first investment, he realized he was in way over his head. He ended up way over budget, missed his timeline by a mile, and made no money. He felt like he had learned a lot though and dove into his second deal, where he made about $90k. The success went straight to his head. Moving his flips from the suburbs to the city, Bryan quickly found it was a very different ballgame, and it brought him close to bankruptcy.

He didn’t give up, however, and continued to learn. In 2017, he took a sales job with a large flipping company, where he was able to watch and learn as the business scaled. In the end, Bryan didn’t agree with the integrity of the flipping business as it was buy low, put in low, and sell high. He decided it was time to branch out on his own and got into custom home building. He took all he had learned and built up Hemlock Homes through consistency and integrity.
