“The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision” - Helen Keller
Do you have a beautiful vision for your life? Do you see the world as it is or as it could be?
When you have a vision you have Hope
When you have hope you have options James Allen wrote, “the visionaries are the saviors of the world!”
Today we undertake an engaging creative endeavour offline called Imagineering [Walt Disney term] or Visioneering your life!
WHAT IS A VISION?
A vision is what you see in your mind's eye and goals help you realize it. If I were traveling to Melbourne, Australia. I know the road to take, the stops on the way are the goals and the vision is what I see at the end of the journey.
WHY HAVE A VISION FOR YOUR LIFE?
When you’re having a rough day or feel like you’re in a rut your vision will bring you back.
When you feel like you’re losing your vision will keep you going.
You want to write one that is in the best possible light for your life...the opposite of the anti-vision exercise in previous sessions.
Think of this as painting your mental imagery into picture format for you to easily see and conceptualize You think in images and you can imagine your life being a series of movies continuously playing and stringing together
A vision is a way you see the world manifested in your highest self being realized and unleashed with the goals being the stepping stones to building the vision out.
You can include people, places, things, items, work, money, what you do, it is up to you but it’s great to write it as you are the hero who has already conquered the dragon, slain the beasts because this will symbolize the future journey you’re about to go on as if you had achieved it and lend power to WHY you are doing what you are doing when it gets tough.
CALL TO ACTION Write out your vision for the next 12 months or 5 years. Start off by waking up in the morning and describing what you do in detail, the state you’re in, who you’re with, how you get paid, what you’ve overcome, the type of person you are, go as deep as you like by making it emotive and real as if you have done it.
BONUS: Create a vision board. Get a large-sized sheet of paper, glue, scissors, and then find pictures online or in magazines that represent your goals and life vision. Cut them out and collage them on large paper. This is a great activity to do with the entire family!
