Dawn Downey is a writer who shares her personal journey through life with introspective stories that will lift your spirits and challenge your assumptions. She focuses on answering the question of how to navigate through life as a sensitive elder woman of color in a culture that is insensitive, white-centered, male-dominated, and youth-oriented.
With several works in progress, she has authored collections of essays including Listicles, Blindsided, Searching for My Heart, From Dawn to Daylight, and Stumbling Toward the Buddha. Her writing career began with a dance review in The Santa Barbara News Press and has since been featured in literary journals, magazines, and newspapers. She engages with her readers by blogging twice a week and hosting Author-on-Demand private video readings. When she is not writing, she spends her time binge-watching Next in Fashion. Dawn Downey currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri with her husband.
