Welcome to another episode of Life with Francy podcast! Our guest today is Jared Moses, a writer/director who specializes in character-driven stories surrounding mental health, dysfunctional relationships, and the African American experience. He started working on his craft as a writer at the age of 15 and has been tinkering away at his writing skill set ever since. At the age of 33, he finally settled into his destiny of becoming a director when a layoff during Covid gave him the opportunity to get the education he needed to become a filmmaker.
Jared is excited about filmmaking because he believes it can teach empathy, which is an essential aspect of being human. He considers it an honor and privilege to be a part of its history and future. His unique experiences navigating the world with a mental illness for 30+ years have given him a unique perspective on the world around him. Jared's radical honesty and acceptance make him an authentic artist who leans into his past, the good, bad, and the ugly.
