Lola discusses with Val Bastien, the relationship guru, what love and dating looks like in 2022 versus what it looked like in previous generations. Val talked about how in today's dating scene, people do not take enough time to get to know the other person and neither person spends enough time building a foundation based on friendship. Even though black love is on the rise, Val still spends a lot of his time coaching clients on what cues to take when dating someone where it starts off online. His recommendation is to spend a lot of time seeing if the person is consistent, honest in how they look presently, and if their profile or communication online matches who they present themselves when you are on the phone or in person.
