Research informs us that we have ~60-70k thoughts per day and 80% of those thoughts are negative and 95% of them are repetitive. That equates to ~50k negative thoughts per day and only ~3k thoughts that occur when we aren’t on autopilot. Those data points are quite sobering to consider and it’s no wonder how people can let their thoughts take them captive. Fortunately, there are ways to take back control, but you need to be willing to interrogate your thoughts.
Ask yourself...
To what end are your thoughts adding productive value to your life?
How is your external environment contributing to negative thought patterns?
How can I appreciate more of the things that bring joy to my life instead of emphasizing what you lack?
Answers to these questions allow you to level-up your mindset by taking your thoughts captive so you can achieve peak performance in all areas of your life.
