“Who Remembers”
Vs. 1
Peter stood before God’s risen son, so ashamed of what he had done.
He said, “Lord remember the multitude you fed, or when you raised Lazarus form the dead,
Or when I was ashamed to say I knew Your name.”
Jesus shook His head in disbelief, then Peter sighed a moment of relief
When He said, “Yes, I remember Lazarus and the people by the sea
But one thing has slipped my memory.”
Chorus
I don’t remember the times you failed me and had to make a brand new start.
I don’t remember the times you were ashamed, though I’m sure it broke my heart.
All I recall is you asking me to, cleanse your spirit through and through.
Now the only one who remembers your sin, my child, is you.
Vs. 2
I had a dream I stood before God’s throne, so ashamed of things that I had done.
I said, “Lord, remember the times that I sinned and when I asked Your forgiveness again and again.
Lord, I pray that You’d let me in.”
Jesus shook His head in disbelief. Then I sighed a moment of relief,
when He said, “well done my servant, you’ve been faithful over some.
Now come on in and see your brand new home.”
Chorus
Bridge
I said seventy times seven that I would forgive your sin,
and each time you bowed down to ask me you started all over again.
Repeat Chorus
