North West Sun, with the Program (Tell the Truth) with your host Valentia Andrews, saw it fit to make it their business to not leave any stone unturned when it comes to GBV and its effects. One of the effects of Violence is Drugs and Substance and gangsterism, where we find Pastor Thomas Collen took it in his hand in partnership with Valentia Andrews Global Connexion to put to a stop through his healing lodge to accommodate, those that are struggling with addiction to different substances that caused their families nothing but grieve, sorrow and headache. On the day of the interview, a few of the leaders, Alfred Collen, the son of the visionary gave a very touching brief as to how his father persevered in his struggle until today where the healing lodge is now more than 10 years in operation. He sadly, explained the aim of the healing lodge as to help people struggling with addiction to drugs through God’s word in aiming at Family restoration. Evangelist Kobus Van der Merwe pleaded with the community and any business individuals to please extend their hands in terms of resources like Food, building materials as well as clothing and also explaining that Many families are affected and broken due to drugs and substances and yet due to covid 19, poverty as well as unemployment, not many people can afford the program hence, Ruach Adonai make it easy for anyone due to the knowledge of the damage that Drugs causes to families. We are deeply in the mission to restore families and it is really hurting to see men, seeking the face of God for their families. The absence of fathers in their children has really caused nothing but turmoil and drove our children right to gangsterism, Says Kobus. Brother Romeo and Mervin gave out a very strong and positive motivation by encouraging young people and everyone out there not to resort to Drugs and spoke out of their own hurting experience the danger and the rejection caused by substances. They both attested that ‘ It is possible to bounce back and live a normal life with God, through Ruach Adonai, they now both know their worth and their identity and will always strive daily to remind themselves of their value and most importantly they thanked Pastor Thomas for his hard work.
