In this episode, I am talking to two indigenous Kalinago sisters from St Vincent.
The sisters are explaining their culture, challenges, and the devastation of the volcano eruption.
On 9 April 2021, the La Soufrière volcano started erupting on the main island of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, causing the displacement of about 20,000 people, devastating the livelihoods of Vincentians, and significantly impacting the environment in the Eastern Caribbean.
The indigenous Kalinago of Sandy Bay is still in need of assistance the sisters have set up a Gofundme to help the island.
