David Marsh Kelly was born on February 11, 1841, in Hamilton, Massachusetts, a small inland town near the North Shore. On January 21, 1916, at age 74, Kelly was last seen leaving his Milk Street office, apparently bound for the train home to Sharon. When he failed to arrive, his disappearance was officially announced by Sharon’s board of selectmen and made headlines in both Wisconsin and Massachusetts newspapers
