In His sermon on the Mount, popularly called the Beatitudes, Jesus speaks of the blessedness of being merciful. Among other pronouncements and declarations, He declares, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." This is a clear indication that it is God's desire that His children be merciful -- that they show mercy to their fellow men and women. Today's Daily Devotional affirms this, making it clear that God demanding His people to be merciful is not surprising considering that He Himself is merciful. October 10, 2024.
