On today's episode of the Soul Connection Duo Podcast, Alexa and Sydney connect with certified Grief Coach, Laura Kay! Laura came to realize that life was far too short following the loss of her brother in 2014 and her mother in 2018. She decided to start leveraging her grief experience, and completely transformed her life by fulfilling her life's mission of helping others navigate life after loss and experience true growth through grief.
Laura shares some of the tools she uses to help her clients navigate through the messy (not linear) grieving process, including how to alleviate the awkward scenarios that we so often experience following the loss of someone close to us. We chat about the importance of setting boundaries, creating rituals and game plans in grief, as well as preparing for anniversaries, deathversaries, and holidays. Laura's process includes having different plans in place ahead of time, so that if Plan A doesn't work, Plan B or C are ready as backup! This can assist anyone who is grieving to be able to manage interactions in a way that feels right for them.
The more we can start talking about grief and empowering ourselves to become comfortable with it, the more we can empower others to become comfortable with these conversations too, as we are not meant to navigate this difficult journey alone. Laura works with individuals at different stages of the grieving process and reminds us that everyone's journey is unique as no love, loss, and grief journey are the same. Her grief coaching sessions help clients to heal, grow, transform, and live life as their truest, most authentic selves. Laura's passion for the subject truly makes learning about grief FUN!
