Description

On today's episode of the Soul Connection Duo Podcast, Alexa and Sydney speak with Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Kendra Starr. Kendra has been practicing TCM for 20 years now, and she continues studying and learning new skills to advance her knowledge and practice.

Kendra begins by sharing her story about a traumatic event that occurred when she was 17 years old, which left her with several spinal compression fractures and she was very lucky to have survived the accident. Kendra's back recovered quite well through acupuncture treatments and she found this to be the most helpful treatment overall. This experience led her to pursue studies and a career in TCM, and she also had a stint as a professional snowboarder and a stunt woman! Kendra talks about the integrated approach she takes with her clients, which includes many of the modalities that she has learned over her career, some of which include Japanese acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, moxibustion, magnet therapy, acutonics (sound healing), and qi gong.

Kendra has navigated and facilitated her own healing, along with the healing of her friends and clients, and we have both been lucky enough to receive treatments from Kendra. We get to connect with Kendra on more of a personal level during this episode, as she shares her experience with the loss of her mother and connecting with our loved ones that have passed. She also enlightens us on her experiences while studying abroad in China, as well as what qi is and how we can feel and manipulate it within our bodies.

"It's no longer about following the path back to where you were, it's about finding a new place that's even better because you've learned along the way." - Kendra Starr, DrTCM
