A Gift from Adversity ~Michael Baptiste~ Ep. 59

Interviewed by Juri Love

Michael Baptiste went through extreme adversity growing up in Miami, FL.

He was raised by a single teenage mother. His father was in prison. He had to navigate through poverty, sometimes even selling a mango to buy his school clothes.

He had to grow up quickly to help his mom and his younger siblings even when he was a little boy.

He was also exposed to a gang environment around him in which he lost several friends at a very young age.

In this podcast, not only Michael talks about his adversity but his extremely successful life now at age 33 living in Thailand, becoming a professional basketball player, business owner and so much more.

This interview was deeply special since I ran a non-profit (Genuine Voices) for 12 years working with hi-risk youth in the detention program and have met boys who went through similar life situation as Michael but not so many kids that I know of statistically can make it to the level of achievement that Michael has been experiencing right now.

He has generously shared many tangible tools to overcome trauma and adversity and mindset that you can apply to help yourself and your situation.

Please take a listen and hope our conversation can lift your spirit and be able to connect with what Michael and I had to share in this episode!
