This episode is the 25th anniversary of the podcast, but it is also special because today's guest is the first HSP person I have interviewed who has always felt loved and appreciated for her sensitivity.
Mary Barringer only experienced small pockets of resistance to her sensitive nature when she was growing up, and this to me was such a revelation. And I hope this will become the way future generations of HSPs grow up - naturally understanding that, of course, it's a gift to be sensitive!
Aside from this very important nugget, we also talk about what it's like to be sensitive beings on the entrepreneurial journey - and we both agree that if you love personal growth and development - you don't find any better training grounds than starting your own business!! =)
Mary Barringer is a counselor for highly sensitive people (HSPs). Specifically, she helps sensitive souls learn how to get off the “struggle bus” (ie. stress/worry less), grow self-trust/confidence and create more space for joy/fun in their (our) lives.
Her work experience includes high school teaching/counseling, mental health counseling and parish ministry.
Mary’s passions include meditation/spirituality, connecting on a deep, soul-full level with other lovely humans & animals (especially kitty cats) and lifelong learning.
She lives in beautiful San Diego, California (United States).
