Cindy Guthrie is an artist who draws inspiration from her life experiences. Living as an Okie for the past 20+ years, she spent her childhood with one foot in the middle of Dallas and the other in my family’s Polled Hereford ranch in Emory, Texas. Texas wildflowers, blackberries, sandy garden rows, and the white-faced cows on her grandparent’s farm, are enduring images of beauty from her childhood. She also draws from travel experiences, especially beachy locales and the southwest/desert landscape, as favorite subjects for her paintings and photography. She hopes a painting will bring to mind and into your home a special memory or feeling of freedom, adventure, joy, hope or childhood.
