How do we know God’s peace when the reality before us is not what we wanted? Scripture speaks of “peace that passes all understanding” but does it cover these complex circumstances, too? The Sunday school answer is “yes” but sometimes it feels very much like a “no” when we are the one in the struggle.
This week, my friend, Joy Marker, is joining us to talk about her journey with a chronic autoimmune disease, Multiple Sclerosis. For her, the diagnosis came when she was in her mid-forties. This diagnosis interrupted and threatened not only her plan but her peace. However, she now sees the gifts which might not have happened if she wasn’t on this path.
