After overcoming some technical difficulties, we are honored to have a very special guest, designer of our show logo, Vesta’s longest term ex-partner and the father of the infamous Umbra, Michael Tenebrae. While drinking Boneyard Old Fashioneds, we discuss how Vampire the Masquerade turned this San Diego native goth, how being into metal might seem in conflict with the elaborate androgyny of goth, and explaining goth androgyny to a group of young marines (!!). We also touch on Satanism and the left hand path, being kicked out of Catholic school as a kid, as well as feeling abused at home and bullied in school, becoming a DJ and working in strip clubs, and the challenges of finding employment while visibly goth.
