Welcome back to Escaping Reality! After some much needed New Year's rest, we're back! While we wait out the weeks until the next new season of Survivor... we thought it would be fun to have a more general conversation about a genre of reality competition show, rather than focus on one show in particular. Since it's Valentine's weekend, we thought the perfect type of show to discuss would be the infamous reality dating show!
Now, we're covering both reality dating competitions + shows, and of course explaining our feelings on what the differences are and what make for better watching experiences. Plus, it wouldn't be an episode of Escaping Reality without a VIBE CHECK, so we're vibe checking the entire genre (and media industry, tbh...) in talking about what makes the casting & editing of these shows so problematic.
