The Pharisees are going to “dog” Jesus all the way to the cross. Ever since He healed the paralytic and had declared his sins forgiven. “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” EXACTLY! Jesus was God and He was letting it be known. The Pharisees couldn’t accept this and were seeking to cancel Him entirely. So, they sought to trap Him by their constant challenges to His authority. They questioned Him relentlessly. But their questions were not motivated in seeking to know Him but by self-righteous resentment. Do you find yourself ever questioning God? Do you ever place your interests above His? Do you really want to see Him for who He is and understand Him in what He does? The passage before us today, can reveal some things we ought to consider when we find ourselves Questioning God.
