Regular Meeting: March 28, 2022
Mayor Derek Williams shared quotes about how Spring is characterized in Lenape culture, namely, “Time in which the frogs begin to sing” and “Time when the shad fish return”. He mentioned that the frogs are singing in Honesdale. President Hamill stated that the first day of fishing begins April 2, 2022.
Call meeting to Order.
Council President James Hamill called the regularly scheduled Borough Council meeting to order at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 28, 2022. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The meeting was conducted in the second-floor meeting room of Borough Hall, 958 Main Street, Honesdale, with a virtual participation option. A roll call of Councilors indicated the following were present at Borough Hall: President James Hamill, Vice-President Jason Newbon, David Nilsen, Michael Augello, William McAllister, James Jennings, and Jared Newbon. In addition, the following Borough officials were in attendance: Mayor Derek Williams, Solicitor Richard Henry, and Borough Secretary Judith Poltanis. The following officials participated virtually: DPW Director Dan Brown, Fire Chief Steve Bates, and Police Chief Rick Southerton.
