D3 is the purest form of college football” coach Sirianni says. He says of the OAC calling itself the SEC of D3 “Check the Record the last two years”. He also has strong words for Carnegie Mellon and Case Western, “they are using us for the automatic bid, join the PAC conference outright in all sports already”
The New York Native at a College Fair coach Sirianni decided to play his college ball at Mount Union winning a National Title as a player in 93’.
Starting his coaching career at his Alma Mater two more National Championships were won by Mount Union and the Larry Kehres Dynasty.
After 3 years at Mount it was time for the opportunity to be a Coordinator and that opportunity came at Wilkes College. In that year the offense saw some national attention his passing offense.
In 1999 it was once again time for a move, time to have complete control of an offense and that move was to Washington PA and a very successful program at W&J under John Banaszak who took over from John Luckhardt.
At 30 years old he started year 1 of this 20 year journey. Coming into a 19 consecutive winning seasons has added 20 more winning seasons. Only 5 schools in the country have 8 wins or more over the last 10 years, W&J is one of those 5.
Sirianni's winning percentage of .807 176-42 places him among the best among all NCAA football coaches (FBS, FCS, D-II, or D-III) with at least 10 years of experience.
Coach Sirianni asks 3 questions of his recruits: are you a good young man? Are you dedicated to being the best you can be? Do you love football? If you can answer those 3 questions you can be a President.
