Lori was a Mankato West high school volleyball standout, who went on to play Division I for the Wisconsin Badgers. As a badger, Lori led her team to the 2000 NCAA Division I national championship game and 2nd place finish. Lori later became a professional volleyball athlete on both the Croatia and Barcelona national volleyball teams, being paid to play the sport internationally. Eventually Lori came back home to coach for the Minnesota State Mavericks. Lori retired as head coach in 2021 and is now the community relations manager for Feeding our Community Partners here in Mankato.
