8.00pm Say More To Life by Butch Monserrat of Monserrat Musikworx in Newnham, Tasmania
This is Say More Radio SWR 99.9 FM's signature track. We believe that musicians colour our world and also gives us a way to feel and express our emotions.
8.03pm See You In Sixty by Gauss Obenza (Gold Coast QLD/Davao City)
This is the morning "kangaroo dance" of this mugna-cum-laude dropout from Allan JH School of Werladance and Kaliwat Academy of Chuchureography (only bisdak will understand this sentence). Anyway, Music allows us to express ourselves. The video itself is a pleasure to watch. The dance lines and curves are tuned with nature. Talking about nature, we will hear birds in the background. You can translate the song and the dance any way it shines on you. Obviously, Gauss sees kangaroos in its artistic graceful natural movements. Hence her interpretation of a kangaroo dancing. I dance the caveman way, hehe. While I can see the kangaroo movements in the dance in this video, I can also see martial arts movements in relation to NNG Balintawak Arnis.
As for the song, it is natural for all to want to be with a mate for life. Gauss asks us to wait a minute and think. A minute can be a lifetime. In true relationships, we give the other person everything, our hearts and our minds. How do you relate to your The One?
Side trivia - In Bisaya, we call the kangaroos as SIGBIN. The Big Reds of Kangaroodom here in Australia have larger forearms. The larger their forearm/biceps, the more lady kangaroos they get. This is also the thinking of male humans. Some women are also physically attracted to men with large guns/forearms.
Observe life around you, and learn from it. I’ll see you in 60 - well the next few minutes of this program anyway, hehe.
8.08pm Walk Away by Carl De Villa (Sydney)
Filipino-Australian indie pop, dance and RnB singer Carl De Villa has been featured on Nine Network's The Voice Australia, Seven Network's All Together Now and performed at sell-out gigs across Australia.
Carl's first singles, Ok lang and Walk Away have more than 100,000 listens online, and the release of his first album, War Cry is set to explode. A visual extravaganza with music in the vein of Sam Smith, Bruno Mars and drawing inspiration from modern indie pop, rock, soul and gospel, each song is a heartfelt, raw experience made sound.
Called "a visual splendour" by the one and only Boy George, fans shower praise on Carl saying that he is "oozing sex appeal" and that his "stage presence was mesmerising".
Carl has collaborated with renowned Sydney music producer, Michael Tan and Melbourne-based Rhys Tolhurst to create music from original lyrics co-written with Carl's writing partner Adrik Kemp. And if that's not enough, famed dance artists and DJs, Division 4 and Ray Isaac have contributed remixes to Carl’s EP.
Here’s a previous interview we did with Carl.
8.20pm Just Another Love Song by Eli Dan (Danny Hacket and Elisha Apurado) (Melbourne)

Through writing lyrics and songs from life experience, the music brings to light the side of life that is usually not spoken about. To show that even though life might be tough, sometimes there's beauty in the pain and everything can be beautiful no matter how ugly it may seem.
Writing the songs in partnership with Danny Hacket (Dan), who brings his folk roots , teaming up with Elisha Apurado (Eli) pop elements. Eli Dan comes together to create the perfect storm of musical brilliance.
