Welcome to the THIS ROAD podcast, a short encouragement for the road your life is currently leading you down.
For people of the Christian faith, this week is Holy Week. This week is the time for us to focus our hearts and minds on the actions of Jesus Christ. He was crucified, died, buried, and then was raised back to life. This week is the culmination of all Christendom.
As we work to set our minds on the work of Christ, the world’s current troubles might work to intervene. With what humanity is currently facing, it might be challenging to observe the cross and empty tomb. But may I encourage you to simply focus on Jesus? He is the author and perfector of our faith, which means that during times we struggle to believe, He will help us in our unbelief. Think about that...in the times that we find it so hard to have faith, Jesus is the most present.
This week is all about the presence of Jesus in our lives. It is about the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. Not a kingdom of dominion, war, violence, famine, and disease. No, a kingdom of faith, hope, love, and peace.
If you find yourself struggling to believe this week, may I suggest a simple prayer:
Christ has died.
Christ has risen.
Christ will come again.
