In this episode of the Sport Intern Special we speak to one of the trail blazers from the world of athletics. Pauline Davis-Thompson set the standard for sprinters from her island of the Bahamas. At her fifth Olympic Games in Sydney 2000, she inspired her team known as the Golden Girls to win the gold medal in the 4x100m relay final. She also belatedly won gold in the 200m after the winner on the day Marion Jones was disqualified for doping.
Since giving up the track, she has been one of the loudest advocates for gender equality working through World Athletics. In our chat, the World Athletics Honorary Council Member, talks about her continued fight for equality for women in sport, and shares her thoughts on the future of transgender athletes in the world of sport.
