There's a difference between personal preference and biblical truth. Sometimes it's hard to know what that difference is. Christians have always struggled to know where the line is. And, because we're each different people with different backgrounds and different baggage, we often have very different opinions about how strict or how loose we ought to be. Should Christians drink alcohol? Should we celebrate events not mandated in the bible? The list goes on! There are Christians who have VERY STRONG opinions on all sorts of questions who would say "the bible is on my side!" In the Apostle Paul's day, there was a big argument about this same question.
