Now that he's explained that the Good News is power from God for salvation for EVERYONE who believes (Rom 1:16), the Apostle Paul tackles the question of WHY everyone needs this power from God that Jesus is offering. To do this, Paul addresses three generic groups of people---and we all fit into one of these groups---and shows how and why each group's relationship with God is broken.
