Paul now shifts his focus to the second group of people who need to know that they (yes---even them!) need this power from God, this divine rescue that God is offering through Jesus of Nazareth. This group is the folks who think of themselves as "good people," without any reference to God. They think highly of themselves. They think they're moral, proper, and upright. They think they're superior to the dregs, the lowlifes, the "lower classes." Paul says these folks are in just as much trouble as anyone else, no matter where they went to school, how much money is in their trust fund, or how white-collar they think they are.
