At about this time in the Christian calendar, Jesus left this world and returned to the Father's side in heaven. One of his disciples, Luke, tells us that Jesus "appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God" (Acts 1:3), and then left them and ascended to heaven.
