June 13
June 13th, 1970 feels like it was just yesterday. My brother, Steve, and my best friend, Randy Van Oosten, had taken the Easy Rider trip on their motorcycles from Fresno, California to York, Pennsylvania for my wedding to Dorothy Jean Brewer, the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. The rest of my family and several friends along with her family and friends were also now sitting in this idyllic little church and getting ready to hear the vows that we would make to each other. I was head over heals in love and about to begin this amazing journey
that would lead me to today, 52 years later and more in love than I could ever imagine. A beautiful daughter, Katelyn, and son in law, Brandon and four incredible grandchildren, Meesha, Niah, AJ, and Daniel, have given such joy to our lives and I am so thankful to God for this wonderful journey. Covid put the nix on our 50 year anniversary celebration but we are making up for it in year 52 by taking a cruise this summer to hear the music group, the Gaithers, and going to Alaska. I’m still blessed to have my mom with us turning 98 this summer. I couldn’t have written a better script for the last 52 years even with some health challenges, losses, tremendous victories, and unbelievable blessings. So, Dot, Dorothy Jean, my favorite person in the world, thank you for being my partner for these last 52 years. I can’t wait to see what other adventures we can add to our resume. Happy Anniversary. Now that’s Good News.
