The Called Servant
In Isaiah 42, we see that the Servant’s identity begins not with striving, but with God’s pleasure, and that true justice is carried out with gentleness, not hostility or revenge. As we remember that waiting is often preparation, not abandonment, we’re invited to rest in our calling, endure with hope, and resist settling for maintenance when God is calling us to mission.
