It might be the greatest coming of age story. It's a story of second chances, what it means to showcase masculinity, and what it means to find your true self. It is a mystery, it is action, it is adventure. It is comedy. It is the sound of drums. Does 1995 Jumanji hold up to even modern day films? Yes it does. And it's not just because of the puppet work and the unforgettable aesthetic of the Parrish mansion but none of that certainly hurts. Magnus and John also discuss the author Chris Van Allburg and their legacy of work both with the follow up Jumanji cartoon, Zathura, and - interestingly enough- the Polar Express film.
