From conflict and forced migration to the erosion of democratic norms, peace today is not a given — it’s something we must continuously build and protect.

We’re joined by Matthew Cummins is a development economist who has worked with various United Nations agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA), the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and as a Peace Corps Volunteer. He currently leads UNFPA’s engagement on health economics in West and Central Africa and previously held a similar role with UNICEF in Eastern and Southern Africa. He has contributed to 50+ publications on socioeconomic issues and holds a master’s degree in international economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
