Angela Haines, Director, Mifflinburg YMCA Center, and Kimberly Wilkinson, Communications Coordinator, Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA, on the growing YMCA branch in Mifflinburg, what is happing there, and lots of information on their Friendly Neighbors program. The program is for adults aged 50 and older who are at risk for social isolation, volunteers are partnered with a participant and contact them on a regular basis (2-4 times each month for 6 months). Volunteers enter a few details into a secure website to track contacts they make. We’ll discuss the partnership with Geisinger, ask if they have any unmet needs and discuss volunteers, donations, seeking joiners etc.
